You know that feeling when you look in the mirror and think your skin just looks… tired? A little flat, a little dull, like no matter how much moisturiser you put on it just never quite looks hydrated enough? I hear this all the time from clients at Sorelle Skin Clinic, and I completely understand it. The good news is, this is exactly what skin boosters are designed to fix.
What Are Skin Boosters?
Skin boosters are a type of injectable treatment that puts deep hydration back into your skin. Not on top of it like a moisturiser does, but actually inside it, where the real difference is made.
The key ingredient is hyaluronic acid. Your skin already makes this naturally and it is brilliant at holding onto water, keeping skin plump and soft and glowing. The problem is that from our mid twenties onwards, our skin starts making less and less of it. Skin boosters simply top it back up again, from the inside out.
The most popular skin booster I use is Profhilo, Teoxane Redensity 1 and Kiara, though there are other excellent options too including Restylane Skinboosters and Juvederm Volite. They all work in a similar way and they all deliver results that my clients absolutely love.

Why Can’t My Moisturiser Do This?
This is such a good question and one I get asked a lot. The honest answer is that even the best moisturiser can only work on the very surface of your skin. It cannot reach the deeper layers where hydration really makes a difference to how your skin looks and feels.
Skin boosters go directly to where they are needed. Think of it like watering a plant. You can spray the leaves all you like, but the plant only truly thrives when the water reaches the roots. Skin boosters are the water reaching the roots.
What Will My Skin Actually Look Like Afterwards?
This is the part clients get really excited about, and rightly so. The results are not dramatic or obvious in that “done” kind of way. They are just beautifully, genuinely better skin. Here is what you can expect:
- Your skin will feel soft and almost velvety to the touch
- Those fine dry lines, especially around the eyes and mouth, will look much less noticeable
- Your complexion will have a natural glow to it, the kind that looks like you have just had a brilliant week of sleep
- Skin will look more even and refreshed
- Your makeup will go on more smoothly and sit better throughout the day
- Over time your skin will feel stronger, more balanced and more resilient
I often have clients come back after their second or third session and say they had forgotten how their skin used to feel. That is the moment I love most in this job.

Is This Treatment Right for Me?
Skin boosters work beautifully on so many different skin types and ages. I would especially recommend them if any of these sound familiar to you:
- Your skin feels dry no matter how much you put on it
- You notice fine lines or a crepey texture, especially around the eyes, mouth or on your neck
- Your skin looks dull or tired even when you are not
- You feel like your skin has lost some of its firmness or bounce
- You want a refreshed, natural result rather than anything that changes how you look
- You are in your thirties and want to look after your skin now before things change
I also love pairing skin boosters with other treatments like microneedling, polynucleotides or chemical peels for clients who want to take a more comprehensive approach to their skin health. Together they complement each other really beautifully.
What Actually Happens on the Day?
Before anything else, I sit down with you for a proper consultation. I want to understand your skin, what is bothering you, and what you are hoping to achieve. This is really important to me. I never take a one size fits all approach because no two people’s skin is the same.
On the day of your treatment, I apply a numbing cream first to make sure you are comfortable throughout. The skin booster is then administered through a series of small injections across the treatment area. Most clients treat the face, but the neck, chest and hands are also popular areas and respond really well.
The whole appointment takes around 30 to 45 minutes. Straight after, you might notice a little redness or some tiny bumps where the injections went in. These settle down very quickly, usually within 24 hours, and most people feel absolutely fine to get on with their day as normal.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
For most people, I recommend starting with a course of two to three sessions, each around four weeks apart. This gives the skin time to really respond and build on each treatment. After your initial course, coming back every six months or so is usually enough to keep your skin looking and feeling its best.
I will always talk this through with you properly at your consultation and create a plan that is personal to you.
Is It Safe?
Absolutely. Skin boosters have an excellent safety record when carried out by an experienced practitioner. I only ever use trusted, high quality products and I carry out every injectable treatment with the highest level of care.
As with any injectable, you might experience a little temporary redness, swelling or bruising at the injection sites, but this is short lived. I will walk you through everything at your consultation so you always know exactly what to expect and never feel caught off guard.
My Honest Thoughts on Skin Boosters
Of all the treatments I offer, skin boosters are one of my favourites to recommend because the results just make people feel so good. It is not about changing anything. It is about giving your skin back what time has gradually taken away, and letting your natural beauty shine through properly again.
If you have been thinking about skin boosters and wondering whether they might be right for you, please do get in touch. My consultations are always relaxed, always honest and never pushy. I just love helping people feel confident in their skin again.
